Serious disruption has again hit Scotland’s rail network, with several lines closed and speed restrictions in place. Dozens of flood warnings have also been issued. A severe flood warning is in place for parts of Scotland as heavy rain and flooding continue to affect the region. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued a warning for the northern Aviemore/Dalfaber area, saying the “risk to life“ remains. According to the agency, severe flooding is expected in and around Aviemore, with river levels predicted to gradually peak over the course of Sunday. It urged anyone in the area to stay away from floodwaters, avoid unnecessary risks and comply with any evacuation orders. In total, more than 50 flood warnings are in place across Scotland.
