Inversion Mutations: Paracentric vs. Pericentric

Two types of inversions exist: paracentric inversions, in which the inverted segment does not include the centromere, and pericentric inversions, in which the inverted segment includes the centromere. These two types of inversions carry different risks for chromosomally unbalanced offspring. #paracentic #pericentric #mutation #DNA #chromosome #Karyotype #centromere #ChromosomeArm
