CHAWANMUSHI - Steamed Egg Custard - Japanese Cooking - 茶碗蒸しレシピ

Chawanmushi is a traditional Japanese steamed egg custard that consists of egg, dashi broth, chicken, seafood, vegetables, mushrooms and so on. It has a complicated, delicate, savory, and rich flavor. And, one of my favorite Japanese food. The characteristic of it is non-sweet melting egg custard including lots of dashi. You can feel both smooth egg custard and the savory soup when you put it on your tongue. Inside of it is usually a combination of some ingredients. The recipe of the video shows a very typical recipe. It needs some technique but it’s not difficult if you learn it once.
