LAKE ELTON. RUSSIA

Elton is Russia’s number one salt lake. There are legends about this unique lake. But you will be surprised - Lake Elton exists and it is located in Russia in the Volgograd region. This is the largest salt lake in Europe, its size is 18 by 14 kilometers. This salt surface was formed 40-50 thousand years ago on the site of the so-called Khvalyn (Aral-Caspian) Sea. Unlike the Dead Sea, Lake Elton is alive, a number of microscopically small creatures live in it, they include rotifers, brachionuses and monostyles, there are also lower crustaceans volterstorphia, diaptomus and artemia. But the main wealth of Elton is, of course, rapa. Lake Elton is superior to most lakes in the world in its healing salt and mud properties. The mineralization of salts on Elton exceeds by 2 times the famous Dead Sea
