Back in Season 2, we did a show that integrated 3D maps into vMix via scripting that leveraged the Google Earth Studio API. While definitely cool looking, it involved some complex scripting and required permission from the Google Earth Studio team to access the API. On today’s show, I wanted to revisit 3D map integration, but this time drive it from the freely available Google Earth website. For this, we will use some basic scripting to create a Sports Graphic that includes details of a game that will be played and include a 3D Flyover of the stadium it will be played at. This will all be driven by an XML file containing both the team and stadium details. It is important to note that when using Google Earth in your productions, you will be required to display attribution for the data contained in any map you show. We will cover how to do this as part of this show. If you’d like to access any of the scripts used during our shows, here is the link to our Streaming Alchemy GitHub Repository: Google Drive: Enjoy them. Share them. Improve them! Thanks for joining us for the show!
