Vajra Symbolism | The School of Esoteric Sciences

The vajra is the symbol of the power of an awakened Head chakra or Heart chakra. Lama Anagarika Govinda states in his book Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism (Samuel Weiser, N.Y., 1975, 62) that the vajra (also termed the Diamond Sceptre) is a sphere which represents the seed of the universe in its undifferentiated form (bindu — point, dot, drop, smallest unit). From the undifferentiated unity the two opposite poles unfold lotus petals (representing the polarity of all conscious existence). From them five Rays of Power emanate, that represent the principles of enlightenment, the attributes of the five Dhyāni Buddhas. We seek to unveil the hidden or esoteric truths behind all religions, spiritual traditions and world views and at the same time elucidate and challenge the distortions therein. Our teachings attempt to go beyond dogmatism and superstition;
