Lauri Volpi Sings “Dillo ancor,“ From Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots. 1933

This short aria, excerpted from a longer 1933 documentary, is an extraordinary piece of recorded music history. The famous tenor is in wonderful form, and his voice is at its peak. It is one of the finest available examples of bel canto tenor singing. Lauri Volpi certainly deserves his reputation, and merits ranking as one of the greatest tenors of all time.
