Dr. Wesley Stites takes viewers on a guided tour of the chemical factory and discusses the basics of the chemistry of bromine. First in a series filmed at the Great Lakes Solutions plant in El Dorado, Arkansas and a useful introduction for other videos in the series. About half of the world’s supply of bromine is produced in south Arkansas. Bromine, one of the halogens, is used in the production of chemicals such as drugs and is found in many products as part of flame retardants.
