Winnie-the-Pooh chapter 8 in which Christopher Robin leads an expotition to the North Pole. After organising Winnie-the-Pooh and all the other animals in the forest into an Expedition, Christopher Robin leads everyone off to discover the North Pole. After a number of incidents along the way they eventually arrive at a place beside a river where they were able to rest and eat the provisions that they had brought with them. Before they are able to re-assemble and continue the journey baby Roo accidentally slips and falls into the water. Eeyore stood with his back to the river oblivious of the events unfolding and dangling his tail in the water in the hope that Roo would grab it and be pulled to Eeyour stood there the current swept Roo of down the river with the other animals racing along the bank trying to rescue him. Meanwhile, Roo himself was actually having a wonderful time having discovered that he could actually swim. Eventually, Winnie-the-Pooh found a long pole which Kanga and he were able to stretch across the river managing to trap Roo as he floated towards them. When Christopher Robin arrived he saw the pole that Winnie-the-Pooh was holding and declared that it was indeed the North Pole and that Winnie-the-Pooh had discovered it. That was the end of the expedition and a sign was erected by Christopher Robin in memory of Winnie-the-Pooh’s discovery.
