Bomb Damage - London (1944)

Unissued / unused material. Bomb site in London after V1 rocket (aka buzz bomb, doodlebug) raid. Various shots civil defence workers clearing rubble from bombed block of flats. A man is helped to safety. M/S car, crushed under rubble. A dead body is removed on a stretcher. A man with a bandaged eye is carried away on a stretcher. More shots of rescuers, American military police are amongst them. More injured are helped out of ruins. C/U policeman covered in dust. L/S fire brigade boat on River Thames, directing hose at blaze. Pan to show source of fire - a railway bridge, possibly Hungerford Bridge? M/S rescue workers and boy looking at pieces of shrapnel. C/U Union Jack flag lying in rubble. M/S mantelpiece amongst rubble with pictures still hanging on wall above. Injured woman with policeman. Man drinking tea at counter of mobile canteen. More shots rubble clearance.
