KAVALINSKI plays Arcangelo CORELLI • Sonata for TRUMPET and ORGAN A-Dur • GRAVE 2023 LIVE

The influence of Arcangelo Corelli on the music of contemporaries and composers of subsequent generations was extremely big. His influence can be traced in the works of Tartini, Vivaldi, Geminiani and Locatelli in Italy, Couperin, Rameau and Leclair in France, Eccles in England, Benda in the Czech Republic, Handel, Bach, Telemann and Muffat in Germany. The Corelli composer is inseparable from the Corelli performer. According to his students and contemporaries, Corelli’s performing style was distinguished by exceptional expressiveness and nobility. He knew how to be lyrical, thoughtful and concentrated, and along with this - excited, pathetic and impetuous. Today marks the 370th anniversary of the birth of the Italian composer, teacher, violinist, creator of the solo concert style of violin music, who stood at the origins of such musical forms as the concerto and sonata.
