Green Severum Care (Heros Severus). Tank mates for the green severum are basically Community Fish. This is my favorite green severum food. Taking care of the aquarium green severum is fairly easy. The issue there wouldn’t be the stock but the height of the tank. ADF’s need to breathe air from the surface like bettas, but they aren’t very good swimmers and can struggle with tall tanks. You’d need to feed them directly after the lightd go out so the other fish won’t get their food before they see it. They’re social and should be in at least pairs as well. Update - My boyfriend said he’d build a little rock wall or something like that for the frog so it can climb out of the water when it needs to. So I’m thinking it should go in the 10 gallon tank with my male betta and his nerite snail because it’s shallower than my 38. They are fully aquatic so they don’t need to be able to get out of the water, but some stuff near the surface for them to sit on and help them get up for air does help. Iv had plecos kill my dwarf frogs a bunch of times they suck on them but I don’t remember if I ever had a bn do it I only remember bigger plecos doing it so I would say it’s iffy with the bns but every thing else in the tank wouldn’t be a problem. Green severums for aquarium care. I have had adf with angels, dwarf gourami, platys, tetras, and pleco. No one ever bothered frogs and frogs didnt bother them. Okay so awhile ago I was at Walmart looking at the fish. They had a fairly decent choice in Angelfish, some unique colorations. I figured I’d buy all 6 small juveniles they had and I’d grow them out and see if any were worth keeping at all. So I go get help and this was the exchange. Walmart Worker: Hello, so what can I get for you? Me: Hi, yeah I’ll take all 6 Angelfish from this tank. WW: Okay cool, so do you have a tank at home? Me: Yep, sure do! WW: Okay so how long had it been running? Me: Well it’s a 4 month old 20 gallon long to grow these guys out in. WW: Is it filtered? Me: well yes of course. WW: Is it heated? Me: yes.. I’ve been in the hobby and angel breeding for about 3 and a half years now.. WW: *Looks into the tank and studies the 6 fish.* Well you can’t put all of these together in the same tank. Me: Umm.. why’s that? WW: Well there is yellow Angelfish in there, you can’t mix them with anything else. Me: *tilted my head and stared for a second* Why would they be more aggressive?.. WW: I bought a yellow one a month ago for my tank and it attacked and killed all my goldfish. Me: Yeah never mind I’ll just skip fish today.. I have yet to even walk past that fish section yet lol. Green severum Cichlid Fish Aquarium. Although a lot of people will debate that goldfish can adapt to live in a fairly large temperature range. Not sure if they are suitable with angelfish though... Goldfish *can* live in warmer water. Is it good for them though? No. It speeds up their metabolism and leads to health concerns like bloat and shortened lifespan. Most walmart employees dont know a damn thing about whatever area they are working in. Its not really their fault, especially if you just ask a random employee to help you out in the fish dept, it may not be their usual... but if youre gonna sell live animals, it would be nice to have someone with actual knowledge involved. There are 2 people that ive met at our local wally world that are decently educated on care, but the rest of the idiots there can barely string together a sentence. Its hit or miss where i am.
