Xishuangbanna (西双版纳) in Yunnan is noted for its distinct culture, more similar to Thai and Laos, than the rest of China - which is basically Han culture. The main city is Jinghong, and the two most famous sites are Mengle Great Buddha (勐泐大佛寺) Temple, and Gaozhuang Xishuangjing (告庄西双景).
