KALBELIYA - RAJASTHANI SONGS - “ISHMAL KHAN“ The kalbeliya community is knows across Rajasthan for their traditional knowledge of snake charming. They used to travel from village to village, singing songs and playing different instruments, as the pungi, dafli, chang and mangira. First nomadic, they presence were required in many ceremonies (birth celebrations, weddings, engagements) and in religious hindu festivals like Holy, Diwali, Naag Panchami and Shivaratri. Nowadays, they had become a cast of professional artists famous worldwide for their traditional songs and specifically for the Kalbeliya dance, also known as the dance of the Cobra. Their songs talk mostly about Love, life and faith.
