ABOUT THE COPPER TEA KETTLE
In this video I will be restoring a copper tea kettle that has been sitting in a barn with a leaky roof longer than I’ve been alive. I bought this kettle at an estate sale in eastern Idaho, I was immediately awestruck at the thick crystalline green patina it developed. The previous owner was in her late 80’s and had unfortunately just passed from covid-19. Her family was selling all of her possession’s and that’s how I was able to stumble across this beautiful forgotten treasure. I offered her family $10 for it and took it back home with me.
After doing some research on the internet I was able to find out that this tea kettle was manufactured by a company called “Baker Hart & Stuart“ who made copper and porcelain cookware and went out of business in the early 1980s.

This was my first official restoration ever. The disassembly went along pretty
smoothly, until I noticed exactly how bad the condition of this
