Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan🇨🇳 China’s Most Amazing Landscape (4K UHD)
Jiuzhaigou (九寨沟), located in the north of Sichuan Province (四川省), southwestern China, is a renowned nature reserve and national park. This picturesque valley, stretching over 72,000 hectares, is celebrated for its stunning multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks, with elevations ranging from 2,000 to 4,500 meters. The name Jiuzhaigou translates to “Valley of Nine Fortified Villages,“ reflecting the nine Tibetan settlements along its length.
Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 and a World Biosphere Reserve in 1997, Jiuzhaigou is part of the Min Mountains on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. The area’s rich biodiversity includes the endangered giant panda and golden snub-nosed monkey, alongside approximately 140 bird species. The valley’s ecosystem is a temperate broad-leaf forest and woodlands, with nearly 300 km² of virgin mixed forests that turn vibrant yellow, orange, and red in autumn.
