The Shenque point belongs to the Ren meridian, and the Mingmen point belongs to the Du meridian.
When the fetus is in the mother’s belly, it is an innate state of life. In this state, the nutrients needed by the fetus travel from the placenta to the Shenque point (navel), then cross to the Mingmen point, and then to the liver and kidneys for growth and development.
When the fetus is born, starting from the first breath of air it inhales, this is the acquired state of life. Because they switched to eating through the mouth and breathing through the nose, the passage from Shenque to Mingmen was abandoned.
