“The best film ever to come out of the studio on the Sava river is the result of the uneven career of Zdenko Gasparovic. Coming to animation in 1957, for several years Gasparovic worked as an animator of series. In 1966, he directed the unpretentious short “Pasji Zivot“ (“A Dog’s Life, 1966); whereupon he moved to North America, dividing his life between California and Canada and his interests between advertising and series. Among others he worked with Hanna & Barbera. Returning home, he continued to work on series, working on “Kisobran“ (“The Umbrella“, 1972) - a 1972 first episode of a series which never took off - and some episodes of “Professor Balthazar“.
