What’s the difference between Washington, DC and a circus? The circus is a better show while Washington, DC -- according to many -- is a disaster unfolding in full view. In a contemporary completely climate that’s hard to argue as being anything other than “gridlock“, there seems to be an interesting phenomenon going on in the United States... the rise of “clowns“. The “clowns“ are the unconventional movement leaders of politics -- Glenn Beck, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, etc. While supposedly qualified and educated politicians are failing to reach the American people, these “clowns“ seem to be winning hearts and minds. But is this a good thing for arguably the most powerful nation in the world? What are the effects of having “clowns“ lead the way? And should the country be so eager to send in the clowns?
