This Concertino is a great introduction to concerto-style repertoire. Composed to be played In the first position and in D major - one of the most comfortable for novice violinists - it includes easy rhythms, which help to develop a sense of pulse. At the same time, the concertino helps violinists to explore bow division and develop a solid foundation of detach bowing. As the first movement progresses and modulates to different keys, the young violinist is able to expand concepts of musical character and experience the musical use of of left-hand finger placements. This video includes the first movement at a slow tempo with a metronome track. The moving cursor helps to play together with the piano accompaniment and also helps when selecting specific passages for rehearsal.
