Philippines insurgency:  Duterte ends unilateral truce with leftist rebels

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has ended a unilateral ceasefire with leftist rebels and ordered security forces to be “on high alert.“ The announcement came after the communist rebels including New People’s Army failed to reciprocate the truce.  Duterte issued an ultimatum after the rebels allegedly ambushed a group of militiamen in the south of the country.
