So @alabasterindigo reminded me this song exists. “Surrogate Life“ Patriot’s Theme from CHUNITHM CRYSTAL / Genesis of Destiny Composer: Daisuke Ishiwatari Vocals: Naoki Hashimoto This song was written for a Japanese arcade rhythm game called CHUNITHM. Daisuke wrote the song and designed the accompanying character, Patriot. This came out back in 2019, and was included in the “Genesis of Destiny“ universe of characters within CHUNITHM. This is the “Long Version“ of Surrogate Life, from “CHUNITHM ALL JUSTICE COLLECTION ep. III,“ Disc 2, Track 19. The second verse is skipped in-game. Oh, and these lyrics are officially sourced, so unlike the season 2 & 3 themes, I didn’t have to guess at all! I know pretty much nothing about CHUNITHM, or rhythm games at all, but that’s one cool dog.
