Perpetual Tango with a robot channeling John Cage

The robot Chakisapa performs John Cage’s “Perpetual Tango“, while dancing with guests at John Cage’s 100th birthday party at Pomona College. Rather than use the i ching, Chakisapa channels John Cage, and takes cues from his environment, to determine his perpetual interprewtation of the piece. He dresses like Cage, too! Chakisapa was assisted in his preparations by roboticist Barry Werger-Gottesman and Costume and Set Designer Scott “Guffy“ Duffy.
