Marx 999 toy electric 2-4-2 steam engine after repairs

My dad bought me a used train set when I was very youngster. This engine was one of the few I still have and it was in very poor condition. Built around 1950, shown after I rewound the stator using about 20’ of 44AWG. Kapton tape was used for the inner and outer layer.
