LACoFD Battling Massive 3rd Alarm Commercial Structure Fire with Collapse: Huntington Park

Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Gage Avenue and Atlantic Avenue for a reported commercial building fire. Engine 165 was first on scene and found a large metal tilt up commercial building with heavy smoke and fire showing. Firefighters at first went into an offensive posture to attack the blaze but quickly switched into a defensive posture as conditions rapidly deteriorated. As a result, the fire was upgraded to a 2nd alarm. After a long and hard fought battle, the fire, which later became a 3rd alarm, was knocked down with the use of ladder pipes. The cause of the fire is under investigation by investigators and other fire department personnel. Huntington Park, CA - 5/31/21
