A core solo drill from Edinburgh Renaissance Fencing Academy for intermediate to advanced students. Any learned sword techniques can be integrated, the key thing is to coordinate all sword movements with accurate foot movements as per di Grassi’s text (note the extensive use of half-paces). Maintaining good posture (with an upright torso and balanced weight) is also important. The same drill could also be done holding some kind of weight to build up muscle and grip strength.
