In 1910, Pablo Picasso embarked on the creation of a group of decorative paintings for the Brooklyn residence of artist, collector, and critic Hamilton Easter Field, but the commission was never completed. Delve into the world of private mural commissions and hear from a range of scholars about the history of this unique, yet unrealized, project, as well as other private painting commissions from different moments in history.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Picasso: A Cubist Commission in Brooklyn.
