Yes, apparantly it’s the thing now. Amphipods are coming ashore. No longer confined to water, this side-swimmers are determined to take over. Meet Arcitalitrus sp., a fully terrestrial scud. Next, land shrimp!!! All terrestrial amphipod or scud species belong to the family Talitridae. They are also known as landhoppers. While alive, they range in color from grey to olive- or reddish-brown, often with a pattern of stripes and spots. Just like crabs and crayfish, landhoppers turn red once they are dead. T
