SAE C102 Cassette Deck Overview & Demonstration

For those that love vintage audio gear (you know who you are) here is an overview and demonstration of one of my favorite cassette decks, the SAE C102. Produced between 1985 and 1991 with a retail price of $499, this was a true competitor to the high end decks of the time (Nakamichi, etc). Based on it’s era of production, this deck was loaded with some cutting edge features. If cassettes can sound ’great’ (and they can), this deck was designed to help bring out the best in them.
