The Staffordshire based band Vox Americana was started by Helen Walford with percussionist Emily Bailey (HGV Driver) and Bass player Hollie Lucas (Professional Dog Walker) after Helen realised that Americana style music in the UK was dominated by mostly male bands. Being a native of the U.S. of A herself she really wanted to get an all female Americana band together and that’s how it all started three years ago. With a truly authentic American twang, here’s their second song for us, ’Knoxville Town’. This is a reimagining of the murder ballad ’Knoxville Girl’ from the perspective of the intended victim. If you’d like to find out more about these fantastic female muso’s then why not take a look at their Music page:-
