Harpo Marx in Moscow, 1933. This is the last item in the newsreel SOIUZKINOZHURNAL 36 (1933), directed by F. Kiselyov. Apparently this is from an event at the US embassy in Moscow in honor of A. Troyanovsky, Soviet rep in the US. At the time, the US ambassador in the USSR (the first ever) was the famous William Bullitt. Mikhail Kaufman, Dziga Vertov’s brother, was one of the cameramen who shot footage for this newsreel, though probably not this particular item.
