Colonia Americana...¡No! is a Panamanian anti American song composed in 1977 during the reign of Omar Torrijos, in memory of Martyrs’ Day, when Panamanian citizens protested the American occupation of the Panama Canal Zone, U.S. Army units became involved in suppressing the violence after Canal Zone police were overwhelmed, and after three days of fighting, about 22 Panamanians and four U.S. soldiers were killed.
