Damh the Bard - Samhain Eve

Samhain is the celtic festival, that marks the end of the year. the old year ends on 31. october an the new begins at the 1. november. But these 12 hours before sunrising at the 1. of november, are neither old nor new year. In this time the veil is thin between our world and the world of spirits ans other mystical creatures, some say it dissapears completely. This is the time when spirits good and evil roam, the best protection against evil ones is a jack-o-lantern. And letting a fire or candle burn until sunrising, but in this night you can to be visited by your ancestors. Your loved ones have now the best chance to make contact with you, but other rituals where you summon spirits, are recommended too. But perhaps it is the best to sit at home thinking on your ancestors. However it is the most spiritual night, when the summer ends and the Sidhe are walking around.
