Restoration Curved Rusty Knife And Surprising Fail

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this curved knife in my neighbor’s yard among the iron junk. He gave it to me, and he would have been scrapped anyway. Well, let’s start the restoration. First, I removed something similar to the handle. The most amazing thing was that it turned out to be an old bone. Then I used rust remover liquid to clean the surface from rust and dirty. Due to the knife shape, don’t had the bevels and I made new one. But just on one side. On the second I etched the nice eagle shape. Material for the knife handle I choose mahogany and beech wood and brass pins. I really don’t understand where I made a mistake. There was no crack, but I understood that there was a weld between the blade and the handle. Perhaps, after sanding, the seam became thinner and then it broke or the internal crack was wider... After gluing the handle together, I started processing it and during sanding it broke... I was very upset,
