Eyvind Alnæs : Romance in E major, (c1906)

The Norwegian composer, pianist and organist Eyvind Alnæs (1872-1932) studied in Leipzig with Reinecke and was later active as an organist and choirmaster in Oslo. He was one of the founders of the Norsk Komponistforening (Society of Norwegian Composers). Although this attractive romance was conceived for piano, it somehow reminds me of violin works of the period, such as Svendsen’s Romance and also Borowski’s ’Adoration’. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
