Melbourne W5 class tram - almost entirely 3D printed!

A while back I started experimenting with building 1:24 scale trains and trams using almost entirely 3D printed parts. The W5 class tram was an early prototype for testing a lot of the construction methods. There are quite a few things about it that I will change in future versions, but that’s the big advantage of 3D printing, you can afford to make prototypes and test different ideas. Here the W class goes for a run on a warm summer afternoon. The Eltham South Electric Tramway is a 1:24 scale, 45mm gauge garden tramway, powered by 32v live overhead.
