CPI CP 2000 40 channel vintage sidebander CB radio, Made in USA

This is the CP-2000, a vintage 40 channel CB base station capable of AM and SSB (USB/LSB) made by Communications Power Inc , a US based company. The radio was manufactured from 1977 to around 1982 I estimate. It is designed and built like a professional HF radio (which CPI also made) and as such, it is probably the best CB radio ever made, both from a design- as well as a performance viewpoint. Not too many of these were sold due to the high price, CPI was eventually not able to compete with the cheap Japanese imports any more and exited the CB business. But they SURE left the world a true art work, that we still can admire today!
