Nigeria: Russian Flags, Putin Chants At Protests Worry Tinubu & Military | Firstpost Africa Protesters in Nigeria’s north were seen waving Russian flags and chanting slogans for Russian President Vladimir Putin as anger against the Bola Tinubu government grows. Russia distanced itself from Nigerian protesters waving Russian flags, saying it is not involved in the protests or coordinating them. Russia’s embassy in Nigeria said it does not interfere in the domestic affairs of foreign states. The Nigerian government says it will not tolerate calls for coups or protesters waving foreign flags. Nigeria’s military chief also called waving Russian flags a treasonable offence.
