The Bowline on a bight is probably the most difficult of the three ways to tie a loop in the middle of a rope series but it has a big advantage. The Bowline on a bight is much easier to untie after being heavily loaded then the Figure Eight on a bight and the Alpine Butterfly knot. It can be used for towing and hanging a sorts of heavy objects on a line. When using the Bowline on a bight make sure to use both loops else resizing or slipping might occur. Sometimes the Bowline on a bight is used to create an emergency bosun chair. The is a simple very uncomfortable harness that can be used to lower a person.
