A moving reference frame (MRF) approach is suggested for better flow prediction around the fans. In this approach the CAD geometry of the fan and its blades is used. The simpler 3D Fan Object is commonly used to model fans in Icepak, but it may not capture the effects of swirl and centrifugal spread. We will compare two different solutions using the MRF method and the 3D Fan Object.
