In 2014 the firm of Cantone & Costabile, based in Naples, Italy, was commissioned to create a Neapolitan Nativity scene for display as the centerpiece of the Knight’s of Columbus Museum’s (now Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center’s) annual Christmas exhibition. The same Neapolitan crèche is again on exhibit (2021) and Antonio Cantone graciously shared a behind-the-scenes look at how the figures are made. Cantone & Costabile is renowned for both the quality of its work as well as its adherence to centuries-old methods and standards for creating its Neapolitan Nativity scenes.
