Let’s go fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast. I am fossil hunting West of Lyme Regis today.I’m going fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast at low tide. I’d like to find some of the beautiful little pyrite ammonites that wash out along the beach at low tide. Little nuggets of gold delight, saved from the shifting sands. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right little rocks. I am going to show you a video of me splitting an ammonite out of a limestone rock.I have spent along time sizing up the manner in which certain ammonites ’pop’ out of the rock. So look and learn how i spend alot of time sizing the rock up. Fossil hunting really does take hours of patience and persistence. I’m going to show you me looking for those ammonite bearing rocks after Christmas time. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning.
