Spanish Royals Brave the Rain During National Day Military Parade

Spain celebrated its National Day with a grand military parade in Madrid, despite heavy rain threatening the event. King Felipe VI, along with other dignitaries and state officials, watched as troops, military vehicles, and ceremonial units marched along the Paseo de la Castellana in the heart of the Spanish capital. Princess Leonor appeared in military uniform, as part of her three-year service in the navy. Although the downpour led to the cancellation of the traditional Air Force flyover, the parade continued as planned, with spectators lining the streets under umbrellas. Known as Día de la Hispanidad, Spain’s National Day commemorates Christopher Columbus’ 1492 expedition and the country’s historical ties to the Spanish-speaking world.
