Edward Alvarez[4] (born January 11, 1984) is an American mixed martial artist who currently fights for ONE Championship.[5] He formerly competed in the UFC and Bellator MMA, winning world titles in both respective promotions, having won the UFC Lightweight Championship once and the Bellator Lightweight World Championship twice. Alvarez is also known as being the first Lightweight champion in Bellator MMA history. He has also competed for the Japanese DREAM promotion, where he made his name in their inaugural Lightweight Grand Prix and also fought once for ProElite’s EliteXC is the first fighter to have won championships in both Bellator MMA and the UFC.
