1984 IMSA GTP at Riverside

The 1984 Los Angeles Times/Nissan Grand Prix at Riverside International Raceway was a wild affair for IMSA’s GTP class and the supporting GTO and GTU categories. Up front, Ford’s cool front-engine Mustang GTP was a rocket featuring future IndyCar champion and Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal, and in pursuit, Bayside Racing’s Porsche 962 and the infamous Blue Thunder Racing’s Randy Lanier and Bill Whittington were charging hard in their March-Chevy which made for an epic showdown in the final laps. Enjoy the old broadcast and the really interesting look the upscaling software has created--almost an animation style--with the imagery as it took the footage out to HD sizing.
