The Mingei Movement, A Deeper Connection With Nature
The Philosophies of the Mingei movement in Japan resonate with me deeply and inspired me to learn to make pottery. The design style and artistic philosophies run through my head when I work bringing me back to my natural surroundings. I hope this video inspires you to find out more about the movement and the artists that were involved. As a way for me depict the design style I include snippets of the Hamada Shoji museum in Mashiko which I highly recommend.
