Belgian Bodypaint Championship, best body art! part 1 Every year during the Pukema festival in Puurs the Belgian Bodypaint Championship is held. This national competition is enjoying increasing popularity and this year several international artists from the Netherlands and France were also allowed to participate. The championship was held in Cultural Centre Binder, a modern multicultural centre with a beautiful collection of surprising and beautiful art. Body art has also found its place there and every year the best body art artists show their work on this day. The theme of the competition was “my Dream“, during a period of 6 hours the artists had the opportunity to make a living work of art from their 16 models, after which the judging took place. The great variety of styles and use of materials was striking, including very elaborate handmade headdresses, props and dynamic make-up. Body painting is a very special art form in which fantasy is transformed into reality.
