Kandahar - Long Live The Sliced Ham 1974 (Belgium, Progressive/Jazz Rock) Full Album

The group was formed in 1973 in the city of Ghent, the capital of East Flanders. The founders are Karel Bogard and Jeff De Visscher. The first two albums were released on a small private label “Dwarf“. The musicians play a fusion of jazz-rock with Canterbury and a little progressive influence. The group had some fame in their home country, but was practically unknown outside its borders. During his heyday, due to lack of finances, leader Karel Bogard released several solo works. The group split up in 1979 and reformed in the late 1980s to record the album Ghent, Somewhere In Europe (1991). The 1974 and 1975 albums were re-released on CD by Sony Music in 2009. A solid prog-jazz-rock album with strong, often dominant horns. It’s mostly brass, but there’s an occasional flute. Tracks: 01. Down At The Finckle’s - 00:00 02. Eyes Of Glass - 04:35 03.
