The Police - Message In A Bottle (FYYC’s Extended Remix & Special Video)

This post is first and foremost about the music: a new remix of MIAB. Fairly faithful to the original, but refreshed in a way I prefer to hear it: with a quiet intro, then Stewart invading the place hitting hard, a guitar sound that is slightly adjusted in timbre, and from 3:12 more than two minutes of Andy’s (underrated) guitar solo. Hope you like it! The video is only made to support the audio remix. All footage used is around on the internet. It is remarkable that there are very few studio recordings of MIAB. Probably because the original single came out at a time when the lads were too busy touring. In addition to the official clip, there is this German TV show recording; funny to see at 6:07 how Stewart wrecks his drum set more or less deliberately. Now that The Police, especially Sting actually, persist in their refusal (or rather fear, I guess) of making that highly sought after new material, we - the loyal fans - have to get that job done. So take a moment for this refreshed version. And if our protagonist(s) will ever read this: c’mon Sting, time is running out and what is there to lose? So get your old friends together, go crazy and MAKE THAT DAMN SIXTH POLICE ALBUM!
