2024 marks the prodigal return of an artist that wowed the populous with his debut release, Lemuria, a collaboration between himself and one of our very own artists Oliver Harper released in 2022 on the darker sub label of the bunch, the always intricate Perfecto Black. The artist in question is Argentinian producer Sebastian Schetter. Now he is back on Perfecto Black once more, this time for a solo release. His new offering has been dubbed Moon Energy and it is an utter joy to listen to. Our journey begins with a perky percussion assembly, acid squelches, effects and a subterranean bassline to sum it all up. An otherworldly moonlight choir shines a lunar essence into the tune while a driving synth sets things off on a correct course. A breakbeatish approach is introduced, adding an extra playful touch to the track while one gets enveloped by the general vibe that has been created. The break arrives and brings with it a melody that is both joyous and full of nostalgia for another time, sitting pretty among the assembly of acids and various effects. Emotions run freely like the ever flowing current of the river and we all get swept away by its radiance. The tune quickly resumes its course after the brief build, while incorporating the aforementioned melody into the mix. A glorious tune reminiscent of the golden days of dance music!
